I Went To The Market, Here’s How it Went!

When making a website for the Montgomery Farm Women’s Cooperative Market, I spent some of my day dedicated to visiting the market.

My girlfriend and I met at the Bethesda Metro Station around the afternoon, ready with a camera, we walked down Wisconsin Avenue and were greeted with a welcoming entrance.

We had arrived at the market two hours before closing, unfortunately, however, we got the chance to meet some of the lovely vendors. We met vendors like Mary Vinograd Fine Art, Chesapeake Catering, Jennifer Warmuth Art, Plant Masters, and Windy Hill Produce who were still available before closing. With consent, I took pictures of their produce and amazing paintings.

I asked them questions like “How long you’ve been vending at the market?” and “What’s it like vending here?”. With just two questions I learned so much about the building and the vendors; It was so interesting to see each vendor I met has been at the market for more than 30 years, some being generational.

The atmosphere outside the building is welcoming, but being inside feels like a home.

After meeting everyone I possibly could before closing time, I took many photos and my girlfriend successfully bought blueberries. It may have not been all day, but each minute spent at the market made my day greater. Very fun to go with friends or by yourself to get you something. The market is a place I highly recommend going when you can.
